Big Jim Action Figures
Big Jim has been a popular line of plastic toys. These action figures were released from 1972 to 1986 by Mattel Toys especially for European and American markets. Seeking inspiration from GI Joe, Big Jim is a smaller in size at 10” and has a push button in its back to execute a karate chop. Because of this action, Big Jim’s arms had been made of vinyl and had a mechanism that allowed the action figure to show off his bicep bulges when his arms were made to bend. Though less of military action figure Big Jim was a secret agent and was available in many different outfits and situations. Some of these included sports, martial arts, hunting, space exploration, camping, western, and some unusual choices like fishing and even photography.
If you love to collect rare action figures, Big Jim is what you should be looking for. The original Big Jim series includes the action fig in different disguises with different names like Big Jack, Big Josh, Big Jeff, Dr. Steel, and Chief Tankua who was Big Jim's Native American friend. After this 1972 series, the P.A.C.K. Series was introduced in 1976, followed by the Spy Series in 1982, and Global Command in 1985.
