Captain Action Figures
Captain Action is one of those super-heroes who have costumes of some of the greatest super heroes like Superman, Spiderman, Batman, Aquaman, Captain America, The Phantom, Flash Gordon, The Lone Ranger, Buck Rogers, Steve Canyon, Sgt. Fury, and the Green Hornet. So basically Captain Action is one super-hero with several different personalities. He was introduced by Ideal Toy Company as the answer to Hasbro’s GI Joe. Captain Action, the many-in-one super hero was first marketed in 1966. The first Captain Action’s action figure was released in a black and blue uniform and had two weapons: a lightning sword and a ray gun. By 1967, Captain Action’s action figures became so popular that the company had to add a partner called Action Boy and introduce an enemy called Dr. Evil. During the same period, Captain Action and his sidekick got a vehicle called "Silver Streak," which is a 2-foot long amphibian car equipped with missile launchers.
In 1968, five comic issues of Captain Action were published by DC Comics and this is also the time when he got a real name Clive Arno. He was portrayed as a museum curator and widowed archaeologist, who was in possession of coins of power that gave him unusual strength.
