Homies Action Figures
Homies is basically a series of 2-inch action figures that are loosely based on Mexican American people also known as Chicano. These characters also known as Homies were created in 1998 and were initially sold through vending machines in different supermarkets. The popularity of Homies action figures grew many folds in the years to come and became important collectibles for young children as well as teenagers. The Homies action figures cooked up quite a controversy immediately after their first launch as some members of the famous LAPD or Los Angeles police department believed that these action figures were glorifying gang life. In fact, after this episode David Gonzales created a story for each of the Homies characters and by 2005, the new characters were included as well. These new Homies characters included Japanese, Puerto Rican, and Filipino women as well as some evil clown characters.
All Homies action figures were largely sell off and still sell like hot cakes.
