Microman Action Figures
Microman line of action figure toys were manufactured by TOMY or Takara (in Japanese) from 1974. Microman action figures were actually imported to North America by the Mego Corporation under the brand name Micronauts till the time the toy manufacturer went bankrupt in 1982. Some of the Microman action figures were also included in the first release of Transformers toys. Microman action figures got their name from their diminutive size. The toys were small with a size of 3.75” each and had THIRTY different articulation points. The line included vehicles, human figures, and robots that had interchangeable parts, which could be changed from one to the other. In early 1980s the second line of Microman, called New Microman that were disguised as life-like objects. A sub line named MicroChange was also launched that could be changed into either robots or vehicles and used along with the original Microman action figures. Microman action figs are amazing for two reasons: a) their parts can be interchanged b) you can recreate new figs and have an entirely new collection!
