KISS
KISS is a popular rock band. Kiss action figures are an important part of the band’s financial empire. The very first set of Kiss action figures were manufactured by Mego in 1978. Two variants of the Kiss group were released. One had regular skinny bodies, while the other was more muscular superhero like bodies. However, by 1997, Kiss action figures became a part of a deal between the band and McFarlane Toys. The Kiss Series 1 was launched by McFarlane to promote the band’s album Psycho Circus. The band members were represented with largish features, wearing costumes that were holding rocket launching tools.
Kiss action figures series 2 was launched in 1998; the characters were shown as super heroes with sensational bodies. These figures were bundles with other circus themed figures like: King of Beasts + Animal Wrangler, The Celestial + Stiltman, The Demon + Ring Master, and The Starbearer + Jester. Many other Kiss action figures have been released in Series 3 (1999), Series 4 (2000), Special Edition (2001) and Kiss Collectibles Figures (2002 in 6 inch busts).
