Minimates
Minimates are cute, block-styled little action figures that were first created and released by Art Asylum. They are now being manufactured by Diamond Select Toys. The original Minimate action fig was a 2-inch tall toy with a design of a very simple human form. There were a total of 14 articulation points, which was, at that point, more than the number of points in other block figures. Several Minimates lines have since then been released and have been aimed at adult action figs collectors. Minimates came based on comic characters, TV series, video games, and movies. The minimates line was first released in 2002 and had 3” block figures representing different characters such as Dark Angel, Star Trek, Bruce Lee, and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Also a Rock Star toy line for bands like KISS, Rob Zombie, Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper was released. After a few months, a changed Minimates lines was released. This included 2" Minimates that were based on Marvel Comics Universe like Spiderman, X-Men, and others. Minimates were a wonderful action figure line that many adults still hold close to their heart. For those who have them, these are their prized possessions.
