A hugely popular gaming series, Resident Evil is known as Biohazard in Japan. Created by Shinji Mikami, Resident Evil is not just a popular video game but also has been published in comics and not to mention the four films with Milla Jovovich in the lead. Making its debut in 1996 as a Sony Playstation game, Resident Evil met with high commercial success and thus gave birth to two sequels: Resident Evil 2 in 1998 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis in 1999.
