X-Files
Anything paranormal is synonymous with X-files. Such was the appeal of this Sci-fi TV series that it became one of the most watched fictional tales ever on American TV. In fact, even today you can catch reruns of this series. The show started in 1993 and was taken off air in 2002. The creator Chris Carter, the characters, and the slogans such as "The Truth Is Out There", "Trust No One", "I Want to Believe" have since become pop culture icons. Embracing conspiracy theories, existence of extraterrestrial life, and mistrust in the government, the X-Files also spawned two movies The X-Files and I Want To Believe. The franchise also consists of action toy figures of the two FBI agents Fox Mulder played by David Duchovny and Dana Scully played by Gillian Anderson. The team of Mulder and Scully complement each other, as the first is a believer in paranormal while the later is a skeptic. Their close relationship and excellent chemistry drew the viewers to draw their own interpretations. Such was the popularity of The X-Files that it became the longest-running sci-fi TV series to be every broadcast on US TV. TV Guide also named The X-Files as the 2nd greatest cult TV series and the #37 best TV series of all times.
