Zoids
Zoids is series of action figures designed and manufactured by Tomy, a Japanese toy manufacturer. Zoids or Zoic Androids has become a franchise since its first release in 1982. These action figures include mammals, dinosaurs, and insects. The action figures are available in 1:72 scale and have a battery operated or wind up motor to make some of the parts move. Each figure can be snapped together in place and all parts are precolored. As mentioned earlier, the first line of Zoids was released in Japan, the United States, and other European countries in early 1980s, the Japanese models were sold with a story written on the back of the boxes, catalogues, and fanbooks. The American toys came with the story. The story described the Zoids to be metal-based living forms reconstructed into machines and used as forces to fight the Zoidians, the natives of Planet Zi.
There have been several different lines of Zoids action figures released over the decades in America and Japan. To date, more than 200 different Zoids’ action figures have been introduced and some of them have been extremely popular.
